Lucky Ali apologises for his controversial 'Brahman are a lineage of Ibrahim' remark

12 Apr 2023

Lucky Ali has apologised for his 'Brahmins are a lineage of Ibrahim' post after facing backlash from the community.Lucky recently shared a religious note on his Facebook account which didn't go well with some people. Even though the post is no longer available, it attracted a lot of flak for Ali.The deleted post read, "Brahmins are a lineage of Ibrahim. The name 'Brahman' comes from 'Brahma' which comes from 'Abram' .. which comes from Abraham or Ibrahim.. The Brahmans are a lineage of Ibrahim. Alaihisalam... The Father of all Nations ... so whys everyone just arguing and fighting without reasoning amongst themselves?"The post hurt the sentiments of several people especially those belonging to the Hindu community. Lucky Ali later justified the deleted post by mentioning that he did that to bring the communities closer and not to make anyone angry. In an apology on Tuesday, the 'Safarnama' singer wrote on Facebook, "Dear Everyone, I realise the controversy of my last post. My intentions were not to cause distress or anger amongst anyone and I deeply regret that." The singer added, "My intentions, instead, were to bring us all closer together... but I realise how it didn't come out in the way that I meant it. I will be more aware of what I am posting and of my phrasing as I see now that it has upset many of my Hindu brothers and sisters. For that I am deeply sorry. I Love you all..."The singer is known for songs like 'Kitni Haseen Zindagi' 'Khuda Hafiz' and 'Hairat'.

Amber Heard claims Johnny Depp assaulted her on their honeymoon

18 May 2022

Amber Heard, who appeared at the Fairfax County Courthouse in Virginia on Monday to testify as part of the defamation case brought against her by former husband Johnny Depp, talked about former husband hitting her on their honeymoon to the point that she feared of getting killed.Amber Heard claims Johnny Depp assaulted her on their honeymoonThe high-profile case in Virginia resumed for a fifth week after a pause. In court on Monday, Heard tearfully told jurors that she believed she'd likely "not survive" if she had remained married to Depp. "I was so scared that it was going to end really badly for me," she said. "I really didn't want to leave him. I loved him so much." The Aquaman actor told jurors on Monday that Depp slammed her against a wall and wrapped a shirt around her neck during their 2015 honeymoon on the Orient Express. The pair married in February 2015 and took their honeymoon on the Orient Express train in July of that year after Depp finished filming the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean movie."He was squeezing my neck against the railway car for what felt like a very long time," she said. She said she recalled thinking he could "kill me". Heard said the Pirates of the Caribbean star would become a "monster" when he was drinking and her efforts to curtail his drug and alcohol use had failed. "The monster had been this thing that was now the norm and not the exception," she said. "The violence was now normal. I remember being scared that he wouldn't mean to do it," she said. Heard also described her marriage as "at times, very loving". She said that it deteriorated over a period of time to the point that tension and violence became normal.During their increasingly frequent arguments, Amber Heard claimed that Johnny Depp would frequently harm himself. "In fights he would often cut his arms or hold his knife to his chest or draw blood, superficially at first," she said. "He also put cigarettes out on himself." In his own testimony earlier in the trial, Depp said that he never struck Heard and told jurors that she had a "need" for conflict and violence. On Monday, jurors heard a number of audio clips of the former couple arguing. In one clip - which went viral ahead of the trial - Heard can be heard saying she hit Depp. "I was hitting you. I was not punching you," she can be heard saying. "You're not punched." Depps lawyers began their cross-examination of Heard later on Monday. The legal case hinges on a December 2018 opinion piece Amber Heard authored that appeared in the Washington Post. Johnny Depp filed suit against Heard over the op-ed in which she described herself as a "public figure representing domestic abuse." Heard did not name Depp in the op-ed but he sued her for implying he was a domestic abuser and is seeking $50 million in damages. Heard countersued, asking for $100 million and claiming she suffered "rampant physical violence and abuse" at his hands.

Netflix to edit out phone number seen in Squid Game after the individual receives number of prank calls

7 Oct 2021

After the massively popular series Squid Game featured a phone number in one of its episodes which people called for pranks, the streaming platform Netflix is coming to the aid the real-life person to whom the number belongs.According to Entertainment Weekly, the streaming company will edit out the scenes that include the phone number, which has led to the individual behind it receiving a deluge of prank calls and text messages. In episodes of the Korean thriller, a card is given to all game participants. On one side are three shapes and on the other side, is a phone number that potential game players have to call if they want a chance to play children's games for an incredibly large sum of cash. The owner of the number told Koreaboo in an interview, "After Squid Game aired, I have been receiving calls and texts endlessly, 24/7, to the point that it's hard for me to go on with daily life. This is a number that I've been using for more than 10 years, so I'm quite taken aback. There are more than 4,000 numbers that I've had to delete from my phone and it's to the point where due to people reaching out without a sense of day and night due to their curiosity, my phone's battery is drained and turns off."According to the Koreaboo interview, the unfortunate incident was accidental as the Squid Game creators thought that removing the first three digits of the number would render it unusable. However, they were unaware that if the number was dialed as a local call, those numbers would be automatically added, allowing anyone to reach its owner. The nine-episode original series became a surprise international hit after premiering on Netflix last month. Netflixs Sarandos reportedly said during a Netflix presentation a few weeks ago, We did not see that coming, in terms of its global popularity.
