Minissha Lamba shares her love for rom-com genre

16 Jun 2023

Minissha Lamba is back on screens with rom-com 'Badtameez Dil'.The show revolves around two polar opposite individuals in love and their journey of figuring life together. It gives us a peek into the complexities of human relationships and love, with lots of twists and turns. Featuring Riddhi Dogra and Barun Sobti in significant roles, the series stars Minissha, essaying the role of Ridhi's ebullient sister, Hailey.Sharing details about her character and love for rom-com genre, Minissha said, "My look (in the show) is what I relate to. Smart attire is fashionable, but it is not runway fashion. Hailey's clothing is an adornment, they don't define her...Working in any comedy and sub-genre is always going to be a good experience."Created by Ektaa R Kapoor and produced by Tanveer Bookwala, Badtameez Dil is currently streaming on Amazon miniTV. The show also stars Barun Sobti and Ridhi Dogra.

What made Ridhi Dogra say yes to 'Badtameez Dil'?

15 Jun 2023

Barun Sobti, Mallika Dua, Minissha Lamba, and Suparna Marwah are also a part of the shiw.. Speaking about self-love and experience on the series, Ridhi said, "I have never been a part of a rom-com dramedy genre before, and the story intrigued me. Even though it's a genre we're all familiar with, when you see the show, you see how refreshing and relevant it is. I think Ekta has done what she does best, narrating the same story with brand new storytelling techniques, and touching upon some very real subjects and covering all sorts of relationship issues along the way is sheer genius.""The story is the real star of the show, as the timeline of the play is so refreshing. It is not a typical hero-heroine series. There is a love story every character is going through and it's telling so much about the world we live in, "she added.Ridhi also discussed the lessons that her character Liz imparts about loving oneself."To love yourself and be ok with who you are. If Liz's journey is anything to go by, that's what we see. While you must put yourself first and self-love is great, Liz is someone who likes taking care of people, and is always there for her friends and family., I'd like to tell every person falling in love to do it for the right reasons. Do your part of loving yourself. Work on being a better version of yourself and the right person will come right along", she shared.

It portrays the problems that a lot of couples face these days while falling in love, but they fail to resolve these differences and opt for the easy way out. I think Badtameez Dil will definitely help a lot of audiences with a different perspective on how to tackle such issues".She added, "There's a warm, familiar, happy, comforting feeling with old-world romance. Stories about lovers and their unique love stories are forever loved and grab the audience's hearts. I am thrilled to say that this is my first ever rom-com of any sort. I have never ever played a character like Liz. Coz I've never played a rom-com heroine. I've always portrayed strong protagonists and trust me I am so looking forward to the audience seeing me in a genre that even though is the oldest genre in the world I have never been a part of."Barun also shared his experience. "My character in the series, Karan, is very opinionated and sorted about his life decisions as it appears. He knows what he wants and what he believes but of course, as the story unfolds, it will reveal who he really is. I am sure the audience will understand and relate to the character on many levels. I think Karan might be the character where I went through the most amount of emotional transition as an actor ever," he said.'Badtameez Dil' will be out on Amazon miniTV on June 9.

"It's a shock even to me"- Minissha Lamba on Bigg Boss

23 Sep 2014

She will unarguably be the prettiest face on Bigg Boss this season. Minissha Lamba who has been keeping a low profile these days, suddenly surfaces as contestant on Bigg Boss this season.

"I know it's a shock even to me," Minissha laughs. But I needed to get out of my comfort zone. I know I am not cut out to be loud and argumentative. But that's the whole beauty of doing something so opposed to my personality. I'll try to remain myself and not give in to the temptation of acting like I am someone else." Minissha Lamba is honest enough to admit she was relatively unoccupied. "I've cleared my decks for the next 2-3 months. I don't know how long I'd last. But I do know I am prepared for whatever happens. I know I am not really cut out for this. But it's always interesting to be the odd one out. Let's see what happens."
