Manoj Bajpayee feels "honored" to be part of India Pavilion inauguration in Berlin

Berlinale. Present alongside were actor Manoj Bajpayee, Director of the European Film Market, Dennis Ruh and Director of the Tagore Centre Trisha Saklecha.Taking to X, Bajpayee shared a few pictures from the event and wrote, "Honored to be part of the inaugural ceremony at the India Pavilion in Berlin alongside H.E. Mr. Parvathaneni Harish, Ambassador of India to Germany, fostering cultural exchange and cinematic collaborations."The Embassy of India in Berlin, Germany wrote on X, "#AmbHarishParvathaneni inaugurated the India pavilion at the @berlinale Film Festival 2024. Those present at the event included Mr @BajpayeeManoj and Mr Dennis Ruh, Director @efm_berlinale and other Indian film industry professionals."Manoj Bajpayee-starrer 'The Fable', directed by Raam Reddy, is all set to premiere in one of the key competitive sections of the Berlinale.This is only the second Indian film in the previous 30 years to premiere in one of Berlinale's important competitive sections.Bajpayee earlier shared, "Joining the cast of 'The Fable' has been a remarkable experience. Working with a creative mind like Raam Reddy and participating in an A-festival backed by an international production house for the first time has been incredibly inspiring. Film producer PV Gangadharan passes away at 80

PV Gangadharan, a film producer, AICC member, and Mathrubhumi media house whole-time director, passed away at 6.30 am on Friday at a private hospital in Kerala's Kozhikode district. He was 80 years old. Gangadharan was hospitalized for more than a week due to age-related ailments. The funeral will be held on Saturday evening. He is survived by his wife PV Sherien and children Shenuga Jaythilak, Shegna Vigil, and Sherga Sandeep. PV Gangadharan, fondly known as PVG, was a luminary in the realms of cinema, politics, and business. He contested the Kerala Legislative Assembly poll in 2011 from Kozhikode North and was an active member of KPCC. Born in 1943 to Madhavi Sami and PV Sami, a prominent businessman and founder of the KTC Group of Companies, Gangadharan was the younger brother of PV Chandran, managing editor of Mathrubhumi. Under the banner of Grihalakshmi Films, PVG produced iconic movies that catapulted today's veteran actors and directors to fame. His foray into the film industry began in 1977 with the production of the film 'Sujatha'.Subsequently, Grihalakshmi Productions crafted several memorable movies, including 'Manasa Vacha Karmana,' 'Angadi,' 'Ahimsa,' 'Chiriyo Chiri,' 'Kattathe Kilikkoodu,' 'Vartha,' 'Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha,' 'Adhwaytham,' and 'Ekalavyan.' The Jayan-starrer film Angadi, directed by IV Sasi, remains a quintessential action film in Malayalam cinema. Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha is among the classics. His last film was 'Janaki Jaane' in collaboration with S Cube in 2023. Kanakkinaav, a production of Grihalakshmi Films, received the prestigious Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration in 1997. In 2000, the film 'Santham' won the National Award for Best Film. Oru Vadakkan Veeragatha, Kanakkinavu, Veendum Chila Veettukaryangal, Achuvinte Amma, and Notebook were also recipients of state film awards.

Mortal remains of actor Nandamuri Taraka Ratna arrive at his Rangareddy residence

Nandamuri Taraka Ratna was brought to his residence in Rangareddy on Sunday morning.Nandamuri Taraka Ratna, who was 'RRR' actor Jr NTR's cousin, passed away on Saturday at the age of 39.Nandamuri reportedly was admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru where he died.As per media reports Nandamuri, who is survived by his wife and their daughter, had earlier collapsed during a rally in January.The late actor was the grandson of Telugu actor and former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, N. T. Rama Rao.His demise sent shockwaves and several Tollywood celebrities and political figures including Karnataka Health Minister Dr Sudhakar K and actors Allu Arjun and Chiranjeevi Konidela paid their condolences.Actor Allu Arjun tweeted, "Heartbroken to learn of the passing away of #TarakaRatna garu. Gone to soon. My deepest condolences to his family, friends & fans. May he rest in peace."Andhra Pradesh MP K Raghu Rama Krishna Raju wrote on Twitter, "Deeply saddened by the demise of #NandamuriTarakaRatna. Gone too soon. Assamese singer and music composer Zubeen Garg hospitalised in Dibrugarh

Zubeen Garg on Wednesday has been admitted to a private hospital in Assam's Dibrugarh town after sustaining a minor head injury.Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma has directed the Deputy Commissioner of Dibrugarh district to ensure that prominent artist Zubeen Garg, who is currently undergoing treatment at Sanjeevani Hospital in Dibrugarh due to physical illness, receives all quality medical services.The Assam CM also directed to arrange for the artist to be taken to Guwahati or outside the state for further treatment by air ambulance if necessary.In addition, the Chief Minister also directed state Health Minister Keshab Mahanta to oversee the entire process of providing medical services to the prominent artist.The playback singer has produced music for Assamese, Bengali, and Bollywood films. Some of his most popular songs include Ya Ali, from the 2006 Bollywood film Gangster, and Dil Tu Hi Bataa, from Hrithik Roshan's Krrish 3. Apart from his singing talent, Zubeen Garg also got a big break in the movies in 2008.Zubeen also plays a wide variety of musical instruments including dhol, drums, guitar, harmonium, mandolin, and keyboard.

The Devil Judges Ji Sung set to play double role in new drama Adamas; Seo Ji Hye & Lee Soo Kyung join the cast

South Korean actor Ji Sung will reportedly play the role of twin brothers in upcoming tvN drama Adamas. On January 19, tvN confirmed the cast line-up for Adamas with Ji Sung, Seo Ji Hye and Lee Soo Kyung sharing the screen space.Adamas tells the story of twin brothers (played by Ji Sung) who unravel the truth behind an incident that happened 22 years ago and try to prove their biological fathers innocence who was accused of killing their stepfather. The two brothers, who are identical in looks but opposite in personalities, chase after the truth and dig into many secrets that is concealed by huge power.According to SoompiJi Sung is set to play both twins. One is a best-selling mystery novel author named Ha Woo Shin, and the other is a prosecutor named Song Soo Hyun who works at the Central District Prosecutors office.Actors Seo Ji Hye and Lee Soo Kyung will play supporting roles in the series. Seo Ji Hye takes on the role of Eun Hye Soo, Ha Woo Shins secret helper and the wife of Haesong Groups oldest son while Lee Soo Kyung will transform into TNN social media reporter Kim Seo Hee, a righteous passionate reporter who is hiding secrets from the twins.Adamas will be directed by Kaiross director Park Seung Woo with Choi Tae Gang writing the screenplay. October actor Banita Sandhu refuses to get treated at government hospital in Kolkata after testing positive for Covid-19

October actress Banita Sandhu is currently in Kolkata shooting for a project, Kavita and Teresa. Amid the shooting, the actress tested positive for COVID-19 and was admitted to a private hospital after she refused to get treated at a government hospital, according to the reports.Reportedly, the actress arrived in India on December 20 and was on the same flight with the person who tested positive for the new strain of coronavirus during the travel from the United Kingdom. On Monday, the actress tested positive for COVID-19 and was taken to Beliaghata Infectious Diseases Hospital where the set up is done for the new strain treatment. But, according to the reports, the 23-year-old actress refused to come out of the ambulance and stated lack of infrastructure as the reason.We had to inform the state secretariat and the health department as she was unwilling to come out of the ambulance and at one point in time, she wanted to leave. The British High Commission was informed as we cannot let her go like this which is against the protocol. We had to inform the police also. They (police personnel) came and surrounded the ambulance so that she cannot leave, the official said, according to Hindustan Times.After receiving permission from the health department, she was taken to a private hospital where she is now kept in an isolation cabin. She was also made to sign a declaration before leaving the Beliaghata Infectious Diseases Hospital that she was unwilling to get admitted due to lack of infrastructure.
