Rani and Pradeep worked together in films like 'Laaga Chunari Mein Daag' and 'Mardaani'.She further said, "Boudi had informed me that he was on remission and he was all ok. He was also shooting these last few days so I don't know how it all transpired in just a matter of a few hours. I'm sure everybody who knows Dada will feel his loss deeply the way I'm feeling it. I had a great connection with him, we've done a lot of work together over the years, so it's literally like losing a family member. My heart goes out to Boudi, Ronno and Raya as they were a very close-knit family and to all the people who worked in Dada's production house and those who have been attached to him over the years. It's going to be a great loss for them."Noted Bengali director Pradeep Sarkar, fondly called as 'dada', passed away at 67 on Friday, in Mumbai."I'm really very saddened by this because I was meant to meet him soon so I feel terrible about it. You never realise how life is so unpredictable, you speak to a person and the next thing you know is that the person is not there. I will hold on to my last memory of him being so happy and excited for me as he had called me to share the feedback that he was getting for my film and me from all over," Rani concluded.

Such a terrible news, we were to meet as soon I got to Mumbai... My heart is sinking and I won't be able to cope with this shocking news."Kangana was all set to feature in Pradeep Sarkar's next biopic film on the late iconic theater personality, 'Noti Binodini.'The 'Queen' actor announced the film in October last year and wrote, "I am a very big fan of Pradeep Sarkar ji and very happy for this opportunity. Also, this will be my first collaboration with Prakash Kapadia ji and I am completely thrilled to be part of this remarkable journey with some of the greatest artists of this country."Kangana also shared the same video on his Instagram stories and wrote, "Last supper..Last meal with Pradeep Dada, for Noti Binodini prep, he knew I loved Bengali food, he made me sit next to him and kept telling me what to eat... I am shattered, we were to start Noti Binodini in October and now I feel so lost, I was to meet him this week...this is so unsettling."He had directed films like, 'Parineeta', 'Laaga Chunari Mein Daag', and 'Mardaani'.The mortal remains of the director will be cremated at Santacruz Hindu Crematorium around 4 PM on Friday.

He mentored and then gave me space to create a part and in this trust lay his genius. I remember being extremely nervous on day one of shoot. It was a production heavy day, we were holding up traffic and there were a 100 junior artists on set. An intimidating environment for a first timer. After my first take I waited with baited breath as he watched the monitor. After what seemed like an eternity, he yelled out for the entire set to hear, "that was great!". Filmmaker Pradeep Sarkar's next Notini Binodini starring Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as courtesan-turned-theatre actor Binodini Dasi has now been pushed to 2021 amid the pandemic.Speaking to a daily, Pradeep Sarkar said that he will likely begin the project in March 2021 depending on the situation. As of now, he is hoping there's a vaccine available by next year.The filmmaker further said that he has locked in two projects - one is a dark comedy and another one is a psychological thriller. He may kick off any one of them before NotiniBinodini. He said he has narrated the scripted over zoom calls but hasn't been able to do it properly. He is waiting to do in person narrations.Binodini Dasi, also known as Notee Binodini, was a Kolkata-based, Bengali-speaking renowned actress and thespian.
