Firoz Nadiadwala accuses Priyadarshan of not directing Hera Pheri properly and brainwashing the earlier cast to not work in Phir Hera Pheri

13 Aug 2021

Updated: Aug 13, 2021 - 10:20 PM IST Hera Pheri will always remain an iconic comedy film for its funny one-liners, acting and storyline, and songs. The film is still remembered for its popular dialogues and characters which are still fresh in the viewer's mind. It completed 21 years recently but after so many years a dispute has cropped up between the director Priyadarshan and producer Firoz Nadiadwala.Recently director Priyadarshan claimed that he was not too keen on directing the second installment of Hera Pheri as according to him an iconic film like this doesn't need a sequel to it and can spoil the original movie. Reacting to Priyadarshan's taunts, Firoz Nadiadwala blamed him for not properly directing the movie so asking him to direct the second part is impossible.Firoz Nadiadwala further revealed that he kept his silence for all these years as the film did good business and also because of his equation with Priyadarshan, but as he did not care about their relationship Firoz too decided to break his silence and reveal certain facts. He also blasted the Hungama 2 director for belittling his father and him. The producer is shocked by Priyadarshan's statements as he did not approach him for part 2 and 3 after his carelessness during the making of Hera Pheri. The Welcome Back producer said that Priyadarshan's creation of Hera Pheri was dull with no comical dialogues and remained missing from the major part of the shoot. He said that it was him and the late Neeraj Vora who edited out the dull part and reworked on creating lots of humorous dialogues and scenes. Firoz also revealed that Priyadarshan tried to brainwash the earlier cast from working in Phir Hera Pheri. Also Read: When Mani Ratnam asked me to do the Hasya Rasa, I had to say yes, says Priyadarshan while refuting reports that hell only do comedy

Meezaan Jaffery opens up on being Ranveer Singhs body double in Padmaavat, says he was petrified

3 Aug 2021

Actor Meezaan Jaffery who recently worked in Priyadarshan's romantic comedy Hungama 2 had already made his Bollywood debut by being the body double for Ranveer Singh in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Padmaavat. Before venturing into films the actor assisted filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali as an assistant director and was chosen to play the body double for Ranveer Singh. He revealed that seeing ace stars like Ranveer, Deepika, and Shahid performing live gave him a lot of learning lessons in acting.Meezaan was immensely supported and guided by his mentor and director Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who gave him a chance to enact Ranveer's scenes and gave valuable comments on his act. The 29-year-old actor became stressed when he was asked to chip in for Ranveer who was busy that day. Nevertheless, Meezaan got ready as Alauddin Khalji and rehearsed his lines. The reason he got stressed was that he had to perform in front of his mentor Sanjay Leela Bhansali and 500 junior artists around him. The actor revealed that it was his big-screen debut in every sense and he was frightened when he had to copy Ranveer's characteristics.Though the actor was anxious and under the weather, he still went ahead and gave his shot. Meezaan Jaffery was introduced in Bollywood by Sanjay Leela Bhansali in his movie Malaal which was directed by Mangesh Hadawale opposite debutant actress Sharmin Segal. The Hungama 2 star is the son of Bollywood actor, dancer, and comedian Jaaved Jaaferi and is the third generation in his family to take up acting. Also Read: After Hungama 2, Meezaan Jaffrey to lead Priyadarshans next thriller

After Hungama 2, Meezaan Jaffrey to lead Priyadarshans next thriller

2 Aug 2021

Hungama 2 released and it turned out to be a damp squib. In fact, the audience completely dismissed the comedy. But nevertheless, it has not affected the lead star Meezaan Jaffrey. Instead, he has signed another film with Priyadarshan.A source informed Bollywood Hungama, "Meezaan has been signed on as one of the leads in Priyan's next movie which is a taut thriller. Unlike Hungama 2, this won't have comedy but an underlying suspense. There were recent reports that he is beginning the film in August and this is the project that was being talked about. Meezaan had signed the film, while he was wrapping up Hungama 2."Apart from Meezaan, the film will star another male star as well. "The complete casting is not yet locked. It's a cop thriller and a murder mystery. And many might think this is the same film that Akshay Kumar is doing with Priyadarshan but that's not true. His film with Akki will roll after he wraps this film and it's anyway a quick film."
