Abundantia Entertainment, the producer of entertaining and impactful films like Sherni, Shakuntala Devi, Toilet - Ek Prem Katha,Airlift and original series like Breathe and Breathe: Into The Shadows, has acquired the rights of a journalist, Pavan C. Lalls captivating book 'Flawed: The Rise and Fall of India's Diamond Mogul Nirav Modi' that will be adapted into a dramatised, multi-season series for streaming. Scripting is presently underway and a set of exciting creative talent is being attached to the project.The book, 'Flawed: The Rise and Fall of India's Diamond Mogul Nirav Modi' depicts the story of high-profile tycoon Nirav Modi, one of the biggest diamond merchants in India. The book is based on personal encounters, incisive interviews, and meticulous research conducted by the author, investigative journalist, Pavan C. Lall. Lall will also serve as a consultant writer for the series adaptation. The book narrates detailed and fascinating aspects of Nirav Modis rise to power and his subsequent fall, unravelling the persona of the man behind one of the biggest financial scandals in India. Pavan Lall was advised and represented by leading entertainment and media rights advisor, Priyanka Khimani.Author Pavan C. Sony Pictures Films India, known for its acclaimed repertoire of successful films such as Piku, Padman, Soorma, 102 Not Out and Shakuntala Devi will now collaborate with Ram and Amitas Ram Madhvani Films (RMF). Nitin Parmar, a well know ad filmmaker with Equinox Films (owned by Ram and Amita) will mark his directorial debut with RMF. Written by Renuka Kunzru, this creative collaboration aims to bring to the big screen a first-of-its-kind underwater thriller, titled Dive.Ram Madhvani is renowned for the award-winning film Neerja in which Amita Madhvani was the associate producer. In 2020, Ram also directed a web show Aarya, starring Sushmita Sen which received a lot of accolades. Currently, Aarya 2 and Dhamaka are under production. Neerja Narayanan will be serving as an independent executive producer. In Ludo, she arguably was a part of the best story of the film and her chemistry with Aditya Roy Kapur was electrifying. Interestingly, both these films were released digitally. While Shakuntala Devi premiered on Amazon Prime, Ludo was streamed on Netflix.And now, it has come to light that her next film, Pagglait, too has opted for a digital release. A source reveals, Pagglait was completed somewhere in February 2020, just before the lockdown. Its a slice-of-life comedy and the makers feel its apt for an OTT platform. Hence, they decided to release it on Netflix. The source also adds that the streaming giant plans to release Pagglait in the next two months. It is produced by Guneet Mongas Sikhya Entertainment and Ekta Kapoors Balaji Motion Pictures.Besides Sanya Malhotra, Pagglait also stars Sayani Gupta, Sharib Hashmi, Ashutosh Rana and Sheeba Chaddha. Its directed by Umesh Bist, whose last film was O Teri (2014). He was also credited as the dialogue and screenplay writer of Hero (2015), the launch vehicle of Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty.Sanya Malhotra has excitedly spoken about Pagglait and has called it a special film. Its also the first time that shell be playing a solo lead in a film. Interestingly, her next film, Meenakshi Sundareshwar, co-starring Abhimanyu Dassani and produced by Karan Johar, will also be a Netflix release. Apart from these two films, she would also be seen in Love Hostel, co-starring Vikrant Massey and Bobby Deol. It is produced by Manish Mundras Drishyam Films and Shah Rukh Khans Red Chillies Entertainment.

After a highly successful collaboration with one of 2020s most viewed and loved films, Shakuntala Devi, director Anu Menon and Abundantia Entertainment today announced that they are coming together again for Anu Menons new film.Shakuntala Devi premiered on 31st July 2020 on Amazon Prime Video streaming across 200 countries and was met with great acclaim and audiences love poured in abundance for this biopic of the Indian mathematics genius who was given the title of the human computer. The film starred Vidya Balan in the titular role along with Sanya Malhotra, Amit Sadh and Jisshu Sengupta.Director Anu Menon has now joined hands once again with Shakuntala Devis producer, Vikram Malhotra, for a new film currently under development.
