Rani Mukerji and Shefali Shah won the Best Actress (Critics) awards at the 69th Filmfare Awards.This year's grand award function was held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.Rani won the Best Actress (Critics) award for her performance in 'Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway'Shefali, on the other hand, won the title for her performance in the film 'Three of Us'.Talking about 'Mrs. Chatterjee VS Norway', Directed by Ashima Chibber the film talks about the life of an immigrant mother who fights against all odds to win back the custody of her children. Neena Gupta, Jim Sarbh and Bengali actor Anirban Bhattacharya played pivotal roles in the movie.The film received a lot of appreciation from the audience.Earlier expressing her happiness about the film's success, Rani told ANI, "It always feels great to see stories of our Indian women being heard globally. I have always tried my best to take the stories of our Indian women to a global platform. I am an Indian woman and know our powers...so I always ensure that our stories are heard with my work."Rani further said that a good film will always resonate with people."If your content is good then it will definitely find its audience irrespective of the medium. By gods grace, Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway has found its audience! I am really happy to see people showering love on our film," she added.Talking about 'Three of Us' Directed by Avinash Arun, the film tells the tale of Shailaja Desai (Shefali Shah), a former Mumbai high court clerk, who grapples with a degenerative brain disease slowly erasing her past. The film follows her courageous quest to relive her childhood memories with the help of her childhood friend and sweetheart, Pradip Kamat (Jaideep Ahlawat).

The film was released in theatres last year but did not do well at the box office. However, the film is now receiving a lot of love on Netflix.Taking a moment to acknowledge this outpouring of love and support, Shefali on Instagram wrote, "Thank you for all the love all of you (well most of you) are showering on 'THREE OF US' it's humbling and overwhelming. The interpretations you'll have of the minutest nuance, registering a look, a line, a gesture, a scene. It shows how deeply the film has affected you. This film was released in the theatres and it didn't do well at all. ""But on OTT, even though it was released on the 2nd last day of 2023, a lot of you are touting it to be the best film of 2023 and that's a proof of what came from our hearts, will and has touched yours. We created something in complete honesty, giving it our all, baring ourselves which brought on surface your thoughts and feelings, and unhindered truth. Proving the strength of the connection between us and all of you even through a screen. And it just reinstates our faith in what we do, rather who we become, because you all believe it too. And we can't begin to thank you enough for it," she added.Swanand Kirkire also played a pivotal role in the film.

Vir Das won an Emmy Award for his comedy special 'Vir Das: Landing'. Shefali Shah on Wednesday revealed how she manages to slay every character and said that she finds every character difficult.Talking about her challenging role in the films, Shefali said, "I find every character difficult. I always wonder why I said yes because when the director asks for action I will not be able to do it. This (movie) has a quality of that little space left for the audience to interpret it. It might not be a situation everyone can relate to but everyone can relate to the emotion of it. This character is not based on anyone as she's herself. Shefali Shah, who is known for diverse, intense and vulnerable roles, on Wednesday hailed the passage of the women's reservation bill in Parliament as "amazing" step that was "long overdue."In conversation with ANI, she termed the passage of womens reservation bill "a symbol of respect to the women for their intelligence, sensibility and their sensitivity."Thats is amazing. It was long, long overdue to have women empowered, to give importance to their decisions, their choices, to their options. Its a symbol of respect to the women for their intelligence, sensibility and their sensitivity. And to believe that they can be part of decisions in creating beautiful environment for our country, Shefali Shah told ANI.The draft legislation called 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam, which was passed by an overwhelming majority in both Houses of the Parliament last week, provides for a 33 per cent reservation for women not just in the Parliament but also in state legislative bodies. It was the first bill passed in the new Parliament building. Meanwhile, Shefali is on cloud nine as she bagged the nomination at the International Emmy Awards 2023 for her stellar performance in Delhi Crime Season 2.She said, "I am very excited, just over the moon, very very happy. Its a huge validation and its still sinking in."Revealing what made her say "yes" to the 'Delhi Crime' series, Shefali said, "It just took me 5 minutes to say yes when Richie Mehta first narrated (the script). More than reading out the script, he just detailed what all happened in Delhi at that point of time (after the horrific gangape of a para-medical student in Delhi in 2012, which came to be known as the Nirbhaya case). He briefed me on how the investigation into the Nirbhaya case progressed. And, less than 5 minutes into the reading session, I said I want to do this. It was really as simple as that. It was a decision that came out of my heart.
