The actor has left no stones unturned to get into the skin of the character. The actor has called off his nine-year-long association with Reshma Shetty's talent agency Matrix Entertainment, who has been handling all his business ever since he made his acting debut with Student of The Year in 2012.Sidharth will now personally curate his portfolio, along with his team, and oversee his brand management instead of delegating it to an external agency. While the makers waited for cinemas to open but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it seems like they have decided to finally release the movie on Amazon Prime Video.Shershaah will be heading to the streaming giant on Independence Day weekend. A few days ago, a Hindi news website carried an interview of Shabbir Boxwala, whos co-producing Shershaah, the war drama starring Sidharth Malhotra. The headline screamed that Shershaah would release on OTT. Shabbir was quoted saying that in the present situation, they have no other option but to release Shershaah on a digital platform. The interview didnt get picked up by other news outlets but it went viral among the many fan clubs of Sidharth Malhotra. While some were happy that theyll finally get to see the film for which they have been waiting for a long time, the rest felt that Shershaah deserves a theatrical release.When this writer reached out to Shabbir Boxwala, the producer however claimed that Shershaah is not having a direct OTT release. Shabbir said, No decision has been made in this regard and I have clearly said that in the interview as well. The film is not even ready. Once its complete, Dharma Productions will take a decision on its release. When asked when the film can be expected to be out in cinemas, he replied, Right now, its a question mark, due to the uncertain scenario.On June 27, Sidharth Malhotra posted an Instagram story that consisted of a picture from the sets of the film. An army camp set was erected on an open playground and the actor had mentioned Back to work in this picture. Sidharth Malhotra who went to Lucknow for the shoot of Mission Majnu and shot for Indra Kumar's Thank God before the second lockdown is again back on set.The actor went back to a set after a couple of months on Monday in Mumbai and will resume the shoot of his upcoming film, Thank God in July. Last year, Kabir Singh producer Murad Khetani announced his next project - the Thadam remake - amid huge fanfare. The film that was supposed to star Sidharth Malhotra and Mrunal Thakur in the lead and go on floors in November went through major changes. Sidharth expressed his reservations on the new screenplay and politely opted out of the film. This happened earlier this year and the film went in a limbo.Now, there's movement on the same and the makers have now locked another star to play the lead. The source states, "Aditya Roy Kapur has been locked in to play the hero now. It's an action packed film which will have in double roles. This will also be Aditya's first double role ever. When Sid opted out, they were on the lookout for a good looking hero who's fantastic with action. Apart from Adi, Mrunal remains part of the cast."Adi is currently finishing his other film with Ahmed Khan. "When he was approached for Thadam, he met the team and loved the script. He loved the duality of the characters. He has given them dates to begin the film sometime this year, after he wraps work on Om." Guess Sid's loss has now become his friend Adi's gain. Actor Sidharth Malhotra is currently in Lucknow shooting for his upcoming film Mission Majnu which also stars Rashmika Mandanna. The actor was seen shooting in Lalbagh on Monday morning wearing a pathani suit. Reportedly, the area is being shown as Pakistan in the film.Sidharth Malhotra plays a RAW agent in the film which is inspired by a real life character who infiltrates the neighbouring country as an undercover agent. Parmeet Sethi essays the role of the man leading RAW, based on the first man to lead the organisation, RN Kao.According to reports, the story of Mission Majnu is largely based in Pakistan and therefore the makers will be replicating several locations in Lucknow itself. The team shot at La Martiniere College for the first few days and then in Qaiserbagh followed by Lalbagh. Some portions of the film will also be shot in Agra.Written by Parveez Shaikh, Aseem Arrora, and Sumit Batheja, the thriller Mission Majnu is directed by Shantanu Bagchi.
