Suniel Shetty on Saturday showered praises on Indian cricketer Yashaswi Jaiswal for scoring his maiden Test double century.Taking to Instagram, Shetty shared a picture on his story and captioned it, "Mentally strong, determined, Fearless and Pure talent. Yashaswi: Jaisa naam waisa kaam."Jaiswal on Saturday became the third-youngest Indian player in history to score a Test double hundred. He accomplished this feat during India's second Test against England at Visakhapatnam. In the match, he played a marathon knock of 209 in 290 balls, with 19 fours and seven sixes. His runs came at a strike rate of 72.06. He was eventually dismissed by pace veteran James Anderson. The next highest score for India is by Shubman Gill (34).Aged 22 years and 37 days, Jaiswal is the third-youngest Indian to get a double ton in Tests. The youngest player to get a double century for India is Vinod Kambli, who was aged 21 years and 35 days when he smashed 224 against England in Mumbai back in 1994. India batting icon Sunil Gavaskar held the record of youngest Indian player to get a double ton before Kambli, scoring 220 against a ruthless West Indies attack at Port of Spain in 1971 aged just 21 years and 283 days.Jaiswal is only the fourth Indian left-hander besides Sourav Ganguly, Gautam Gambhir and Kambli to smash a Test double ton.He has taken just 10 innings to reach his maiden double-century. Karun Nair notched his maiden double ton for India in just three innings, being the fastest Indian to do so.In six Tests and 10 innings so far, he has scored 620 runs in 10 innings at an average of 68.88 and a strike rate of 63.85. He has scored a century, a double century and two fifties. With the batter having smashed 502 runs in 16 T20I innings at an average of 33.46 and a strike rate of 161.93 with a century and four fifties, Jaiswal could very well become India's newest all-format star once he receives his ODI cap.At the age of just 22, Jaiswal has already notched double tons in the Irani Cup, Duleep Trophy, Vijay Hazare Trophy and Tests. This speaks a lot about his temperament and hunger for big runs.Coming to the match, the second session of the first Test, day two is in progress. India is well on its way to making 400 runs in the first innings thanks to Jaiswal's marathon knock.

And Merry Christmas love [?]"Sameera Reddy wished the couple and wrote, "Happy anniversary [?][?][?]"Mahima Chaudhry dropped a comment, which read, "Happy anniversary [?][?][?]"After a long courtship, Suniel and Mana tied the knot on December 25, 1991, and welcomed their first child Athiya in 1992 and their second child Ahan Shetty in 1996.Meanwhile, on the work front, Suniel will be seen in 'Welcome to the Jungle'.Helmed by Anees Bazmee 'Welcome' was released in the year 2007 and starred Akshay Kumar, Katrina Kaif, Anil Kapoor, Nana Patekar, Paresh Rawal, late actor Feroz Khan and Mallika Sherawat in lead roles. The film was declared a blockbuster and is considered among the funniest Bollywood films.'Welcome' was followed by a sequel 'Welcome Back', which starred John Abraham and Shruti Hassan in the lead roles.'Welcome 3' is being directed by Ahmed Khan. From playing cricket, working out devoutly in a gym and having a balanced diet, the 'Border' star does everything to keep himself fit and in shape. In an interview with ANI, Shetty discussed his fitness journey in detail, revealing what he includes in his meals."I always wanted to represent the country in sports...that's where it all began. Then I started learning martial arts and that was the time when I understood the true meaning of discipline. Once you bring the element of discipline into your life, you can easily achieve anything that you set your mind to. (Speaking of diet) I balance my food...I quantify my food. If I am doing action, I will include more carbohydrates in my meals. Also, I have reduced the consumption of oil. There's only 15-20 grams of oil in my entire food per day and I prefer coconut oil. I am not a nutritionist but I understand my body. I work out for 45 minutes to an hour every day. There's nothing special in my diet, I just eat home-cooked food," the actor saidHe added that he wants to set an example for children who look up to him for fitness."Today kids don't say what an actor Suniel Shetty is, they say, 'I want to age like you'. There is not a single blot on my Instagram today. I don't have a team that decides what I should put on Instagram. I just put it and if you see my followers, they are largely below 35 years of age. That is something I see," he said."I want to remind every kid to go home and tell their father how fit Suniel is and then look at themselves in the mirror. Saying this won't make them disrespect their fathers. I am saying this because every child wants their parents to live forever. By telling this to their parents, they would motivate them to stay healthy," the actor said. It's his disciplined way of life and control over cravings that puts the lasting glow of youth on his face.
Boycott Bollywood' trend, a dark phase in the industry when trolls on social media called for the boycott of Bollywood releases, including some big-budget ones, actor Suniel Shetty credited Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath with putting an end to it.Last year, in January, Shetty urged CM Adityanath to rid the industry of the viral social media trend, which affected the box-office business of some big films.Speaking exclusively to ANI, the actor said, "I think it was just a phase, a movement that came and went. Lots of things were happening with Bollywood and '#Boycott Bollywood' was a viral trend, a big movement that was causing further damage to what was already happening in our industry at the time. But when I spoke to Yogi-ji, I was honest. The first thing that I told him was, 'bhagwan par bhi to ungli uth ti hai, hum to insaan hain (some even point fingers at the Almighty, we are only human). He took it very positively.""Where are all these trolls now? Does the hashtag exist anymore? Just 10 people here and there, putting out #Boycott Bollywood posts on social media doesn't make any sense anymore. It didn't even make any sense back in the day when it became a viral trend. I believe it was just a phase that we rode out. We just went through a bad patch," he added.Earlier, in January, during a sit-down with the UP chief minister, the 'Dhadkan' actor put forward some of the industry's grievances before him.Recalling his conversation with the UP CM, Shetty said, "I remember telling him, 'The '#BoycottBollywood' trend can stop with your help. It was important to convey that we've done good work. There can be one rotten search apple but 99 per cent of us don't indulge in any wrongdoing. We've to change this perception. I told him, 'If you take the lead and also talk to PM, it will make a difference'."Now, almost after a year, Shetty said things have changed."All I said was that, 'Sir, you want us to come there (take film shoots to Uttar Pradesh) but at the same time there is this ban that is happening, where do we go? All we need is respect and it was conveyed and received so beautifully. And now things have changed."'#Boycott Bollywood' started trending after the demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. However, in 2022, netizens reignited the trend before the release of big-budget films such as 'Laal Singh Chaddha', 'Liger', 'Brahmastra', and 'Raksha Bandhan'. The trend affected the box-office business of some of these films.Films like 'Liger', and 'Brahmastra' also faced boycott calls. However, 'Brahmastra' defied the boycott calls and did very good business at the box office, emerging as one of the highest-grossing films of 2022.
Suniel Shetty has praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for visiting the Indian team's dressing room after a heartbreaking defeat to Australia in the final of the ICC World Cup 2023 in Gujarat's Ahmedabad last month. Talking exclusively to ANI, Suniel said, "Have people commented earlier when the Prime Minister had gone for the smallest of events that have happened even for a national level like sport to meet the people? The Prime Minister has gone everywhere. So, as per convenience, we cannot talk. Which PM earlier in history has ever gone and touched upon a sporting hero before? Maybe a phone call has gone or they've been called to the Centre." "I thought it was a beautiful gesture and he (PM Modi) continues to do that not only for cricket but with every sportsman or every achiever in the country. There is always 2 ways of looking at something," the actor said. Following Team India's heartbreaking loss at the ODI World Cup 2023 final against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium on November 19, the Prime Minister cheered up the 'Men in Blue'. In a video shared by the Prime Minister's Office, PM Modi is seen motivating Rohit Sharma's side and said that the country is with them. He also said that they had worked hard in the tournament. PM Modi also hailed Indian speedster Mohammed Shami and said that he had done well at the ODI World Cup 2023. PM Modi also asked the team to 'stick together' in this difficult time following their six-wicket loss against Australia in the finals. While concluding, the Prime Minister cordially invited the squad to Delhi and asked them to meet again. "You guys have worked really hard and played exceptionally well. Just stick together and keep on motivating each other. Also, whenever you are free and are in Delhi, then let's meet again. You all are cordially invited from my side," he concluded. India, which had an unbeaten run in the tournament, lost in the finals to Australia by six wickets. During PM Modi's visit to the dressing room of the Indian team, he interacted with every player and encouraged them.
KL Rahul, actor Suniel Shetty said he shares a very healthy bond with him.In a free-wheeling conversation with ANI, the actor, when asked if it hurts him when the cricketer, who has led India in both the red-ball and limited-overs formats, faced trolling on social media during his lean phase with the willow, said, "It hurts me more than probably it hurts Rahul."Shetty revealed that his son-in-law told him to stop reacting to all the negativity, saying, "He said 'Dad my bat will talk'. And, it did."After battling indifferent form and failing to produce enough big runs with the bat, Rahul, returning from a long spell on the sidelines through injury, came into his own in the World Cup earlier this year.Taking on his new role of a wicketkeeper-batsman as a duck takes to water, KL let his bat do the talking, emerging as the eighth-highest run-getter in the tournament with 452 runs in 11 matches at an average of 75.33 and a best innings of 102 against the Netherlands. Apart from the ton, he also had two half-centuries against his name in the tournament.Despite returning from the long injury lay-off, Rahul showed sparkling form behind the wickets, making good collections and coming up with some spectacular catches across the tournament."The faith of the people in him, the selectors, the faith of the captain, it said it all. It hurt me 100 times more than it would have hurt Rahul, Athiya or anybody else. As parents, we go through even more than what the kids would go through," the actor added.Saying that he is an ardent admirer of Rahul's batsmanship and one of his biggest cheerleaders, Shetty added, "I have always been a huge fan of his and loved watching him play. I have always loved Rahul for the way he plays. He may be my son but I am still his fan."The actor revealed further that he brings his superstitions to the fore whenever India plays, adding that he watched all of India's World Cup matches in a room with his wife Mana Shetty. The actor said he watched all of India's matches sitting on the floor. Also, weighing in on India's World Cup campaign, Shetty said, "They were a masterclass in team spirit. For me, today Rohit Sharma is probably where Dhoni stands because everything that he (Rohit) did was selfless. It was for the team. All of them whether it's Rohit, Shubhman, Surya or Virat coming back after so many years, you can't ask for a better team. It was just one bad day in 45."India stormed into the final after going unbeaten in the league and knockout phases but came horribly unstuck against five-time champions Australia in the title clash.Cricketer KL Rahul and Athiya exchanged vows on January 23, 2023, at Suniel's farmhouse in Khandala. The actor is known for his performances in films like 'Mohra', 'Border', 'Dhadkan', 'Yeh Teraa Ghar Yeh Meraa Ghar', 'Hera Pheri' and 'Phir Hera Pheri', among others. He will be next seen in the comedy 'Welcome To The Jungle' alongside Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, and Raveena Tandon.
