He doesnt drink. Thats the scary part. He was naturally abusive. And as my son grew older he became a horrified witness to his mothers abuse. I had to leave for the sake of my children and for my own sake. Now when he hears shouting and screaming hedoesnt get frightened. He knows it can also bea sign of a happy family. Apparently Veenas husband has expressed a desire for reconciliation. And recently avery distinguishedMaulanabrought us together on one platform. But it didnt work out. I am not closing the door on my marriage. If he convinces me has actually changed I may return. But until I feel my children and I would be safe with him there is no question of going back. VeenaMalik has resumed her career. I have begun working on a television series for one of Pakistans leading channels. Iwant to do work that will do my children and my parents proud. My children are my world now. Even though the Pakistani actress Veena Malik could not catapult herself into the A league of actresses in Bollywood with films that she did here, she got (in)famous for her stint on the reality show Bigg Boss. It was the very show wherein she was known mostly for her alleged romance with her co-contestant Ashmit Patel and her acidic tongue which led to many fights. She also made news by posing for the controversial cover of the Indian edition of FHM magazine. Then, Veena Malik made news by marrying the businessman Asad Bashir Khan Khattak on 25 December 2013 in Dubai. They also have two children named Abram (2) and Amal (1). The latest update on the lady is that, she has now ended her three-year-old marriage with Asad Bashir Khan Khattak after a family court there granted them a divorce. The reason cited for their divorce were the growing differences between them. The Lahore court accepted Veena Maliks application for khula (divorce), which was ruled in her favour after the non-pursuance of the case by Asad Bashir Khan Khattak. Even though the court had summoned him, he apparently neither appeared nor has even filed a reply. Since Veena Malik had filed for the divorce, she would have to return 25 per cent of the haq mehr (dower money) to Asad Bashir Khan Khatak, according to the systems out there. Veena Malik is a mother all over again. On Wednesday, she gave birth to a baby girl, her second child in two years. Last year Veena and her husband Dubai-based entrepreneur Asad Bashir Khan Khattak had a son.

Speaking exclusively to this writer from the hospital in Dubai, Veena said, "I've been in and out of the hospital for the last few weeks and now my baby has finally come into the world. We've named her Amal. With our son AbRam and daughter Amal, our world is complete." Veena once, not too long ago, considered the queen of controversies, is now a fully domesticated house maker and mother.

"I can't think of how I could be any happier than this," she says.

Controversy's favourite child and now mother of a beautiful baby, Veena Malik and her husband Asad Bashir Khan have been sentenced to 26 years in prison by Pakistani court for alleged profanity.

Numbed with disbelief Veena, speaking from her home in Dubai, calls the sentence shocking. "I didn't know this was coming. I knew there was a blasphemy case for some time now. But my husband and I had done no wrong. So I was never troubled by the charges." Veena took off to America to have her baby. "It was complicated pregnancy. I had to have a 'c' section done. My husband and I went to America to have the baby and came back to Dubai with our bundle of joy Abram. My baby is my world now." She is all the more shocked that such a seemingly brutal sentence could come at this time in her life. "I've put my colourful past behind me. I've found my happiness in life. My husband and my child are my world. To now be so rudely reminded of how vulnerable to attack I've always been, is very disturbing. It's an attack on my new life as a wife and mother." Reliving the episode that has landed her in this serious trouble, Veena says, "My husband and I had been invited on a show on GEO TV. Mind you, we were just guests on the show where the religious qawwalli was being played. That same Qawwalli is played on numerous other shows. We showed no disrespect to the Qawwalli. I may have across as a liberated uninhibited person in my past conduct. But that doesn't mean I don't know how to respect my religion. Nowhere in my conduct will you find any disrespect to my religion." Veena Malik says she and her husband did not dance to the Holy Qawwali. "The honourable court says there is a close up of me during the holy Qawwalli. Shooting close-ups of artistes during television shows is the cameraman's concern. How am I or my husband to blame for this?" She is taken aback by the vehemence of the attack. "Normally there's 1 FIR filed. In my case there are at least a 100 FIRs all over Pakistan. I know I've admirers and well-wishers all over the world. So this kind of attention at home is nothing new to me.

Lekin yeh kuch zyada ho gaya (this is too much)." Veena sees the harsh punishment as a reaction to the backlash against GEO television. "There has been a lot of campaign to bring them down. My husband and I are caught in the crossfire of a media war. To accuse us of profanity is unjust. We know how to respect our religion." The order against Veena and her husband has come from a special court in Pakistan. Veena will proceed to Pakistan to fight it out. "We are going to file an appeal in Pakistan's High Court." There is outrage on the internet against the harsh sentencing.

Says Veena, "I've a little baby and he has to be breast-fed. For me to hear such a harsh verdict against me and my husband at a time when I just want live a quiet life and enjoy motherhood is too hard to digest." Veena will proceed to Pakistan to fight the sentence. "I've always taken on every challenge. I am a fighter. I never run away from trouble. I am going to Pakistan in December to fight this crisis. I've been contributing to charitable causes in Pakistan since I was 14. I've always been a good daughter to Pakistan. Now please let me be a good mother to my son."

Controversy's favourite child Veena Malik has now gotten herself into a what we may call it as the biggest controversy of all times in her career. She, along with Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman (owner of Geo and Jang group), have now been sentenced to 26 years in prison by an anti-terrorism court for allegedly airing a blasphemous programme.

The duo have been accused of airing of an apparently sacrilegious programme on Geo television in the month of May, which had played a religious song while staging a mock marriage of Veena Malik with her husband Assad Bashir Khan. Besides Veena and Mir, Judge Shahbaz Khan has also sentenced Assad Bashir Khan along with TV host Shaista Wahidi for 26 years each.

Besides this, the ATC has also imposed a whopping 1.3 million Pakistani rupees as fine on the convicts and has ordered that their properties should be sold to raise the said fine, in case they failed to pay it. In its 40-page verdict, the court has also asked the police to arrest the convicts.

Hemant Madhukar, who made his directorial debut with the 2010 film A Flat , is currently busy working on his next venture Mumbai 125 Kms. The film which is said to be a 3D horror movie featuring Vedita Pratap Singh, Veena Malik and Karanvir Bohra who will make his debut.

Though the filming of the same has almost been completed, we hear that the director will be shooting a promotional video song for the same. The song in question, titled ' Ringa Ringa ' will be a peppy number with a Punjabi tadka and will feature none other than the sexy siren Diana Uppal, former Miss UK India beauty pageant winner and a contestant on Big Brother UK and Indo Canadian actress Anita Kailey ( Jatt, Juliet-2 fame). Sung by Shalmali Kholgade and Harshit Tomar, the song has been composed by the famous JSL Singh and will be shot in Delhi this July.

While the film's exclusive official first look poster will be released on Bollywood Hungama on July 25, Mumbai 125 Kms is set to release on September 26, 2014.
