The crazy comic caper, Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos , is all set to release tomorrow, January 16 and it has caught attention due to its quirky trailer, casting and association of Aamir Khan as a producer and also in a special appearance. A few days ago, its director, Vir Das, revealed that the film has been passed with an A certificate. In this article, will exclusively focus on the cut list. #Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos EXCLUSIVE: CBFC springs a pleasant surprise; allows majority of abuses and cuss words in Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos; deletes brown visual The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) passed Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos with an A certificate. However, they asked for a few changes. At four places, dialogues were replaced with appropriate one-liners. However, the cut list doesnt mention any details about these dialogues. Secondly, a visual with the word brown was asked to be deleted. It lasted 43 seconds and was replaced with an approved visual of 21 seconds. Lastly, the makers were asked to increase the font size of all the anti-alcohol, smoking and tobacco disclaimers. The good news is that Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos has several abuses and cuss words and they have been allowed. In fact, it wont be wrong to say that this is the most liberal that the CBFC has been in a long time. Just recently, in Dhurandhar , a few abuses were muted despite the A rating. Thats not the case here. Whats also a surprise is that usually, the Examining Committee (EC) asks for several cuts in such films, prompting the makers to approach the Revising Committee and hope for fewer deletions. In the case of Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos , its the EC that has passed the film with minimal modifications. The makers of Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos were handed over the censor certificate on January 13. The length of the film, as mentioned on the certificate, was 121.42 minutes. In other words, Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos is 2 hours, 1 minute and 42 seconds long. Happy Patel Khatarnak Jasoos is directed by Vir Das and Kavi Shastri and produced by Vir, Kavi, Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit. It stars Vir Das, Mona Singh, Mithila Palkar and others.
Aamir Khan and filmmaker Rajkumar Hiranis much-anticipated Dadasaheb Phalke biopic has seen a shift in its production timeline. While the project was earlier expected to go on floors in January 2026, the makers are now planning to begin filming in late March 2026. Rajkumar Hirani-Aamir Khans Dadasaheb Phalke biopic to go on floors in March 2026 after script revisions: Report In September 2025, Mid-Day had reported that the film was gearing up to roll early next year, with Khan reportedly moved to tears while revisiting key moments from Phalkes life. However, plans have since changed as the actor-director duo have decided to further refine the screenplay before taking the film on set. According to industry insiders, a fresh draft of the script is currently being developed, one that aligns with both Hirani and Khans creative vision while doing justice to the journey of Dhundiraj Govind Phalke, widely regarded as the Father of Indian cinema. The intent, sources say, is to ensure that the narrative resonates with contemporary audiences without compromising on historical authenticity. A source told Mid-Day, Hirani and Aamir agree that the film must feel emotionally contemporary while staying rooted in history. The rewrite is to fine-tune the balance of humour and sincerity. They want to ensure that the character arc captures Phalkes stature. The draft will likely be finalised by February, and production will begin in late March. The development comes months after Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani announced their reunion for the third time, following landmark collaborations such as 3 Idiots and PK.The announcement had sparked widespread anticipation across the industry. However, reports soon emerged suggesting that the project had been temporarily put on hold due to creative concerns. Earlier, reliable sources had told that both Khan and Hirani were dissatisfied with earlier drafts of the script. Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Hirani stand for perfection, and they were not happy with the script of Dadasaheb Phalke Biopic. Aamir felt that the script is too dry for the audience in todays world, and doesnt have the humour that one expects from their collaboration, the source had stated. The source further added, After repeated sessions of rewrite, the duo have collectively decided to put the project on hold. They believe that a personality as iconic as Dadasaheb Phalke deserves a script that is both emotionally stirring and universally engaging. Until they arrive at that benchmark, they are in no hurry to rush the film into production. Meanwhile, Aamir Khan is said to be evaluating his future projects carefully. The actor is reportedly reading multiple scripts and is expected to announce his next film in the first quarter of 2026. He is in the process of reading at least 20 scripts at the moment and will pick one of the shortlisted projects, a source revealed. Currently, Aamir is busy with promotions of his next film, Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos, which is directed by Vir Das, and is slated to release on January 16, 2026.

Aamir Khan, who is known to be extremely picky about the films he associates with, did the much-criticised Mela which clocks twenty-five years on January 7 solely to launch his brother Faisal Khan. 25 Years of Mela: Aamir Khan admits he did Mela only to launch brother Faisal Ironically, Faisal has since accused Aamir of multiple transgressions, including illegal confinement and career sabotage. Kya karein? Aamir sighs. That is my destiny. You can fight the world, but how can you fight your own family? Speaking about Mela , Aamir openly admits that the film was done for his brothers sake. A loud and boorish adaptation of Sholay , Mela featured Aamir as a comic-book version of Dharmendra, while Faisal was cast as a tight-fisted, clenched-jaw take on Amitabh Bachchans iconic role from Sholay.Mela bombed at the box office. Yet, Aamir insists he has no regrets. I was obviously disappointed by its failure to achieve its potential. Beyond that, I think its tough to answer your question. First of all, let me tell you, every film I do means a lot to me. The failure of Mela definitely made a difference to me. It was hard on Faisal, but it was hard on me as well. Im not comfortable with the idea of any of my films not realising their full potential. The entire team had worked very hard. We were all disappointed. More Pages: Mela Box Office Collection
The release of Mere Raho , the upcoming romantic drama starring Junaid Khan and Sai Pallavi, has been postponed from its originally scheduled December 12, 2025, debut. The film produced by Aamir Khan Productions is now being earmarked for a summer 2026 release, with movers and shakers in the industry pointing to a July window as a preferred launch period. Junaid Khan-Sai Pallavi starrer Mere Raho release shifted to Summer 2026 amid crowded December line-up: Report Filming and post-production for Mere Raho wrapped earlier this year, completing principal photography by April 2025. The marketing responsibilities for the project were entrusted to Aamir Khan himself, who, according to trade sources, was instrumental in re-evaluating the release strategy. A source told Mid-Day that the decision to shift the date was rooted in commercial pragmatism: December is a high-pressure corridor. The insider noted that the end-of-year calendar was dominated by heavyweight productions, including Dhurandhar and a major romantic comedy starring Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday, making it difficult for a content-driven romance like Mere Raho to secure a strong foothold at the box office. July offers better leg room for a film like Mere Raho.It needs time, repeat value, and controlled screen density, the source explained, suggesting that the comparatively quieter summer corridor would allow the film to grow through word of mouth and sustained audience engagement. The genre and cast combining Sai Pallavis heartfelt screen presence with Junaid Khans rising star profile make Mere Raho a sought-after summer option for urban audiences. The film, a Hindi remake of the 2016 Thai romance One Day , is directed by Sunil Pandey and marks a key milestone for Sai Pallavi, who is also generating buzz for her role in the 2026 mythological epic Ramayana. An official release date for Mere Raho has not yet been announced, but close observers expect a formal announcement in the coming months as pre-release marketing ramps up.
Of late, the internet is afire with reports on Rajlumar Hiranis 3 Idiots acquiring a sequel. When this writer approached the two principal players in 3 Idiots Aamir Khan and R Madhavan they individually declared they had no clue of this development. Aamir Khan and R Madhavan deny being approached for 3 Idiots sequel: It also sounds far-fetched Said Madhavan, A sequel to 3 Idiots sounds great. But it also sounds far-fetched. All three of us Aamir Khan, Sharman Joshi and I are much older now. Where do we go in the sequel? What are our lives like now? It is an interesting thought. But hardly conducive to a proper sequel. I would love to work with Raju Hirani again. But 3 Idiots again? I think that would be idiotic. Aamir Khan said that he is delighted by the thought of sequel to 3 Idiots. We had so much fun making that film! My character Rancho is the most popular character Iveplayed. People still talk about Rancho. So yeah, Id love to do a sequel. But no one has approached me. One hopes this puts an end to the endless speculation on a sequel to a beloved film.
Night Song, the full-spectrum music company known for shaping immersive soundscapes across celebrated films and series including Scam 1992, Jigra , Coke Studios renowned release Khalasi , The Buckingham Murders , Maati Season 1 and many more, announces its latest collaboration on the upcoming film Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos.Co-founded by Achint Thakkar and Parth Pandya, Night Song has composed and produced the music for the spy-comedy backed by Aamir Khan Productions, marking actor-comedian Vir Das directorial debut. The film is set to release on 16 January 2026. Night Song collaborates with Aamir Khan Productions for Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos; first track Banda Tere Liye out! For Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos , Night Song was tasked with creating a sonic world that balances a spy drama with comedy, giving each track its own identity and purpose. The music amplifies the films narrative beats while keeping the tone fresh, witty, and engaging, ensuring every moment, from action to humor, is enhanced by the score. A standout from the album is ' Banda Tere Liye ,' a high-energy, cliche bending track that flips a familiar Bollywood trope by turning the man into the spectacle. Conceived as a rare male-led anti-item song envisioned by director Vir Das, it positions the male character at the center of performance, an uncommon narrative choice in mainstream cinema. The creative process began not with a tune, but with the bold hook line itself, around which Night Song built the melody, rhythm, and sonic world. Blending club, funk, and alt-pop, the song is elevated by an earthy Indian instrumental hook that roots it in a rustic, almost village market place like setting, giving it a fresh, unexpected flavor. Speaking about the collaboration, Night Song founders Achint Thakkar and Parth Pandya shared in a joint statement, Creating the music for Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos was an exciting challenge for us. Each track was crafted to serve the story while staying true to our sound. Genre-bending songs like ' Banda Tere Liye' will hopefully go on to shape culture, while our Marathi rap Fckta Apan is sure to stick in the listeners mind. Were glad to have partnered with Vir, Kavi & Aamir Khan on a film that gave us so much creative freedom. Vir Das and Kavi Shastri, directors of Happy Patel , shared in a joint statement, Night Song is a team weve wanted to collaborate with for a long time, and with Happy Patel , that opportunity finally came together. The album gave us the space to explore multiple genres within a single body of work, and they took our musical vision and elevated it in the best possible way. This certainly wont be the last collaboration between us, and Night Song. The collaboration with Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos marks an important milestone for Night Song as it continues to expand its footprint across Indian cinema, working with leading production houses while carving out a strong creative identity of its own. The soundtrack of Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos features 12 tracks, including 5 full-length songs and 7 songettes.
