Tere Ishk Mein teaser: Move over Saiyaara; Aanand L Rai, Dhanush, Kriti Sanon to ensure the year ends on an intense, raging note!

30 Sep 2025

In 2013, Aanand L Rai and Dhanush partnered beautifully with Raanjhanaa. The film was a success and continues to have a fan following; the latter became evident when a fan screening was held in June this year and got a roaring response. Now, both have teamed up for Tere Ishk Mein , backed by Bhushan Kumar's T-Series.While the 2 minute plus long teaser will be released digitally tomorrow, that is, October 1, got a sneak peek of it earlier in the day. Tere Ishk Mein teaser: Move over Saiyaara; Aanand L Rai, Dhanush, Kriti Sanon to ensure the year ends on an intense, raging note! Tere Ishk Mein is unlike anything that Aanand L Rai has done before. The teaser showcases a crucial scene from the film. From the writing point of view, this scene is a masterstroke and it gets better with the direction and performances. A montage of sequences also form a part of the teaser followed by a hard-hitting dialogue in the end. The impact is further made by the usage of the title song, sung by Arijit Singh and Faheem Abdullah. The latter also sung the title song of Saiyaara.Dhanush is seen in a never before seen avatar, at least in a Hindi film. Kriti Sanon, too, seems to have given her best. Tere Ishk Mein seems to be a film full of rage and intensity. This is the genre that's working big time right now as evident by the fact that a 2016 film like Sanam Teri Kasam collected nearly Rs. 50 crores at the box office. Saiyaara , meanwhile, went on an overdrive, emerging as a sleeper blockbuster. Hence, the timing is just right for Tere Ishk Mein. With its intense emotional core, powerful performances, and a genre thats striking a chord with audiences today, Tere Ishk Mein arrives at just the right moment. Releasing solo on November 28, the film has a clear runway at the box office, an advantage that could work hugely in its favor. And if the teaser is any indication, the buzz is only going to build from here. As anticipation grows, all signs point toward Tere Ishk Mein being one of the years most talked-about releases.

Raanjhanaa AI-ending row: Dhanush and Aanand L Rai Unite to take legal route, Were exploring legal options

5 Aug 2025

A new twist to the plot vastly different from what Aanand L Rai originally shot with Dhanush in their acclaimed film Raanjhanaa twelve years ago has angered fans of the film, the director, and the actor alike. #Dhanush Raanjhanaa AI-ending row: Dhanush and Aanand L Rai Unite to take legal route, Were exploring legal options The producers of Raanjhanaa , Eros International, have reportedly altered the ending of the film using artificial intelligence to create a new happy conclusion. While Aanand L Rai had already voiced his opposition to this AI-generated desecration, Dhanush has now joined the battle, publicly taking a stand against the modification. Aanand Rai confirms that he and Dhanush are brothers from different mothers, and are currently exploring various legal avenues to counter what he describes as a very dangerous precedent. I am very worried about my other films. So is Dhanush. We are actively looking at judicial remedies to restore and preserve our creative content from such extraneous interventions, says Aanand. Apart from Raanjhanaa , the filmmaker and actor have previously collaborated on Atrangi Re and are already planning a third project together. But before we move forward, we are committed to tackling the current crisis, Aanand Rai asserts.

Raanjhanaa AI-ending row: Eros International counters criticism from Dhanush and Aanand L. Rai, reaffirms ownership of 2013 film

5 Aug 2025

Eros International Media Limited has officially responded to criticism regarding the re-release of its 2013 romantic drama Raanjhanaa now featuring an AI-assisted alternate ending. The re-release, also launched in Tamil as Ambikapathy , has sparked a public backlash from the films director Aanand L. Rai and lead actor Dhanush, who expressed disapproval over what they view as a tampering of their original vision. Raanjhanaa AI-ending row: Eros International counters criticism from Dhanush and Aanand L. Rai, reaffirms ownership of 2013 film In an official statement, Eros clarified that the AI-altered version is legally compliant, creatively supervised, and specifically intended for Tamil-speaking audiences. The company emphasized that the original version of Raanjhanaa remains untouched and widely available across all platforms. It does not replace or alter the original Raanjhanaa , which remains widely accessible. This alternate edition follows a longstanding cinematic tradition of offering creative adaptations and anniversary re-releases, the statement read. Ownership and Intellectual Property Rights The production house asserted its legal standing as the sole financier, producer, and rights holder of Raanjhanaa , affirming complete control over the films intellectual property, moral rights, and derivative content under Indian copyright law. The statement also addressed Dhanushs recent remarks, implying that Aanand L. Rai had personally invested in securing his casting in the film. While such comments may reflect personal admiration, they are factually inaccurate and legally inconsequential. No private or independent financial investment by Mr. Rai exists within the production, financing, or IP structures of Raanjhanaa , said Eros, adding that the company undertook full financial risk for the project and retains 100% ownership. Objection to Tere Ishk Mein Association With Raanjhanaa Eros has also taken issue with promotional material for Aanand L. Rais upcoming film Tere Ishk Mein , which reportedly attempts to position itself as being part of the Raanjhanaa universe. The company called this an illegal and misleading attempt and stated that no legal rights, approvals, or IP ownership have been granted for such positioning. A cease and desist notice, dated July 25, 2025, has been issued to all parties involved in the marketing and creative direction of Tere Ishk Mein.Eros has also notified leading OTT and streaming platforms to prevent any further misrepresentation. This act represents a clear violation of Eross exclusive copyright and intellectual property, the statement read. Creative Direction of AI-Assisted Ending Addressing criticisms over the use of AI in the alternate ending of Ambikapathy , Eros emphasized that the project was guided by a human creative team, with AI used only as an assistive tool, not as an autonomous content generator. Mr. Rais dissociation from the Tamil alternate version is his personal choice, but his claim to ownership or moral authority over the work is neither contractually supported nor legally enforceable, Eros clarified. Clarification on Legal Proceedings Responding to accusations that the re-release is a diversionary tactic amid ongoing regulatory scrutiny, Eros stated that the NCLT proceedings involving Colour Yellow Productions pertain to corporate governance matters, not artistic rights. We categorically reject the suggestion that this creative initiative is a strategic distraction from unrelated regulatory matters... Conversely, we urge the public and industry stakeholders to see through the coordinated and deliberately timed campaign of misinformation, the company said.

Dhanush slams AI-edited Raanjhanaa re-release: This isnt the film I made

4 Aug 2025

In a shocking turn of events, the re-release of the 2013 romantic drama Raanjhanaa has sparked widespread outrage after the films climax was altered using Artificial Intelligence (AI) without the consent of lead actor Dhanush or director Aanand L Rai. The AI-generated ending, introduced by Eros International, has ignited a heated debate on the ethics of AI in cinema, with Dhanush himself expressing deep disappointment and calling the decision a threat to the integrity of storytelling. #Dhanush Dhanush slams AI-edited Raanjhanaa re-release: This isnt the film I made Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Dhanush didnt mince words in his statement, The re-release of Raanjhanaa with an AI-altered climax has completely disturbed me. This alternate ending has stripped the film of its very soul This is not the film I committed to 12 years ago. He also called for stricter regulations to prevent similar alterations in the future. The use of Al to alter films or content is a deeply concerning precedent for both art and artists. It threatens the integrity of storytelling and the legacy of cinema. I sincerely hope that stricter regulations are put in place to prevent such practices in the future, he added. The original ending of Raanjhanaa was hailed for its heartbreaking realism Kundan (Dhanush), bloodied and dying, lies unresponsive as Zoya (Sonam Kapoor) cradles his lifeless face. The moment was a raw portrayal of sacrifice and unfulfilled love, cementing the films cult status. In stark contrast, the new version shows Kundan surviving his injuries, waking up in the hospital to smiles and upbeat music. Fans were quick to slam the new ending, calling it a betrayal, tone-deaf, and an insult to the original narrative. It began trending as cinephiles shared clips, reactions, and nostalgic tributes to the original. Adding to the backlash, director Aanand L Rai also voiced his disappointment, confirming he was not consulted and the filmmaker expressed his anger in a heartfelt note on social media. While Eros International released a statement defending their actions as an experiment in cinematic innovation, many believe the move sets a dangerous precedent one where commercial interests override artistic authenticity. As the controversy brews, one thing is clear: Raanjhanaa may have received a new ending, but the original story and the emotions it evoked still lives on in the hearts of its audience.

THIS is what happens in the new AI-generated ending of Dhanush-Sonam Kapoor starrer Raanjhanaa

1 Aug 2025

On August 1, not just Son Of Sardaar 2 and Dhadak 2 but even the re-release of Raanjhanaa s (2013) Tamil version, Ambikapathy , hit cinemas. This is the first film that has caused a controversy on its re-release as the studio, Eros International, changed the ending of the film using AI, without the knowledge and approval of its director, Aanand L Rai. While it was known that the new ending is a happy one, as opposed to the tragic ending of the original version, no one knew how it would be depicted in the film. But now that the film has been released, the cat is out of the bag. REVEALED: THIS is what happens in the new AI-generated ending of Dhanush-Sonam Kapoor starrer Raanjhanaa The original ending Raanjhanaa ends with an injured Kundan (Dhanush) being brought to the hospital. He vomits blood, to the shock of his childhood friends, Murari (Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub) and Bindiya (Swara Bhasker). Zoya (Sonam Kapoor), the love of Kundan, arrives and caresses the lifeless body of Kundan. The altered AI ending In the new version, the scene of Zoya touching Kundans face is cut to another shot where Kundan can be seen breathing. Murari and Bindiya can be seen observing the same from outside the hospital room. A few seconds later, both Murari and Zoya also enter the room and can be seen smiling. Finally, Kundan opens his eyes. In the next shot, he wakes up as a celebratory background score is played. The legendary final shot featuring the kid Kundan and adult Kundan crossing paths follows and thats where the film ends. What has surprised the audience is that the AI effect has been brought upon beautifully. In fact, those who have not seen the original version would not even be able to determine that the shot of Kundan waking up hasnt been shot in real life at all. Meanwhile, there have been reports of shows having good occupancy and Dhanushs fans creating a frenzy in cinemas over the new, happy ending as well as other heroic scenes of their favourite actor. The controversy However, the decision to have an AI-altered ending has led to a tiff between the studio and Aanand L Rai. Yesterday, Aanand wrote a long post on Instagram, I do not support or endorse the AI-altered version of Raanjhanaa. It is unauthorised. I had no role in it. Neither did the team that made the film. And whatever it claims to be, it is not the film we intended, or made. This was never just a film to us. It was shaped by human hands, human flaws, and human feeling. Whats now being circulated is not a tribute. It is a reckless takeover that strips the work of its intent, its context, and its soul. The idea that our work can be taken and modified by a machine, then dressed up as innovation, is deeply disrespectful He further added, If Raanjhanaa meant something to you, as it did to us, please know that this AI-altered version does not reflect who we were. Nor does it carry the spirit of the film we made. Aanand L Rai had earlier also made his displeasure clear over the reimagined version and shared a statement. Consequently, Eros issued a statement saying, We at Eros International Media Limited categorically reject and strongly object to the unfounded and sensationalist remarks made by Mr Aanand L. Rai regarding the AI-enhanced re-release of Raanjhanaa. These remarks are not only factually incorrect and misleading, but appear to be a deliberate negative PR stunt designed to distract public and industry attention from serious and ongoing legal matters concerning Mr Rai and Colour Yellow Productions Pvt. Ltd. We view Mr Rais public outburst, especially timed just days after these disclosures, as a conscious attempt to shift focus away from the legal and governance issues he currently faces. It is unfortunate that a filmmaker of his stature would attempt to conflate legal accountability with creative victimhood. It would be best if Mr Rai respectfully acknowledges the ownership of IP as per the law of the land and his written undertakings, rather than use media unfairly as a platform to promote himself and thrive on unwarranted sensationalism.

Aanand L Rai condemns AI-altered Raanjhanaa re-release: This is a gross violation of creative trust

18 Jul 2025

Filmmaker Aanand L Rai has issued a strongly worded statement against Eros International following the re-release of his 2013 film Raanjhanaa , which hit theatres again on February 28 this year with an altered climax reportedly generated using Artificial Intelligence (AI). The filmmaker, who directed the original film starring Dhanush and Sonam Kapoor, has now publicly distanced himself from the updated version. Aanand L Rai condemns AI-altered Raanjhanaa re-release: This is a gross violation of creative trust In a quote shared with the media, Rai expressed deep disappointment over not being consulted before the re-edit. People connected with Raanjhanaa because of its flaws and imperfections, he said. To see its ending altered without a word of discussion is a gross violation not just of the film, but of the trust of the fans whove carried the film in their hearts for 12 years. The director didnt hold back in criticising the production house, calling the move reckless and questioning its ethical and legal implications. Eross actions open a dangerous door. They raise urgent legal and ethical questions, of the impact of decisions like this on the moral rights of creators, Rai said. A particular point of contention for Rai is the reported use of AI to modify performances by the lead actors, long after the films original release. Even worse is their apparent decision to alter the actors contributions without their consent! How can they digitally manipulate an actors input almost a decade after a films release? This strips away their agency, and raises serious concerns under personality and image rights, he added. The filmmaker also warned against the precedent such decisions could set for the industry. If this goes unquestioned, what stops anyone from updating any film, performance, or legacy to suit short-term profiteering? he asked, arguing that the move risks reducing the creative process to something disposable. Im heartbroken that this is the future were heading toward, where intent and authorship are disposable, Rai concluded. All I can do is dissociate myself from such a reckless and dystopian experiment. It is worth noting that the makers have not responded to the criticism, as of now.

Raanjhanaa fan screening: Aanand L Rai reveals how the LEGENDARY climax scene was written just HOURS before shoot: It was our last day at Banaras; I SHOUTED at writer Himanshu Mehra

22 Jun 2025

The fan screening of Raanjhanaa (2013) was held at a multiplex in Mumbai on the occasion of its 12thanniversary by DIY Solutions and was attended by the films team actors Dhanush and Mohd Zeeshan Ayyub, then-child-actor Naman Jain, director Aanand L Rai, writer Himanshu Sharma and lyricist Irshad Kamil. Sonam Kapoor couldnt make it and the team kept a picture of her on the seat. The event began with the screening of the film after which stand-up comic Devansh Singh entertained the crowd. Laksh Maheshwari, then, in his trademark style narrated the films story and also hosted the talk. The very final scene of the film, which shows younger Kundan and adult Kundan crossing paths and looking at each other, has achieved cult status. Aanand L Rai revealed the madness that happened on the day he shot the said scene. Raanjhanaa fan screening: Aanand L Rai reveals how the LEGENDARY climax scene was written just HOURS before shoot: It was our last day at Banaras; I SHOUTED at writer Himanshu Mehra Aanand L Rai was asked if the scene was a part of the script. He replied, The emotion was always a part of it. But the visual was planned spontaneously. Himanshu and I had fought with each other! I didnt have just that part of the climax and it was the last day of the shoot in Banaras. As always, he was confident the night before and told me, Main subah tak de deta hoon.Hell sweetly ask me, Shift kitne baje ki hai aapki ?. I told him, 7:00 am (laughs)! Aanand continued, At 6:00 am, I woke him up. I knew he must have not written! Still, I asked him, Did you write?. Then, I shouted at him, You have to write and give. Or else, Ill not leave Banaras. Aanand further stated, 2 hours later, he came to the shooting location. Woh waisi hi haalat mein tha jaise main usko chod ke gaya tha.I was shooting with Naman. It was the scene where he says Kya apni lugaai bachane ke liye kya Ram ji khud chanda maangne aate hai ?. I asked him, Did you write?. He said, Kuch kuch likha hai.He narrated me the scene. I heard it and I knew it was what I wanted. I wanted to tell him, Kya likha hai tune yaar. But I was upset with him. Director ka ego bhi hota hai ! Hence, I couldnt praise him. Still, the moment he ended his narration, I said Bahut accha and I walked off. Aanand L Rai added, Those lines gave me the visual. I called Dhanush and asked him, Will you come for an hour for the shoot after lunch?. He agreed and he asked me what was the scene. I told him that it was just one shot for which we require him.
