Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 9 : Amid growing tensions between India and Pakistan, voices from the film industry have also come forward to show support for the Indian Armed Forces and the government.Following the recent terrorist attack in Kashmir on April 22, which killed 26 innocent tourists, India launched Operation Sindoor, a military response targeting terrorist camps across the border.Actor Vindu Dara Singh, speaking to ANI earlier in the day, expressed his support for the government and lauded the Indian military's response.Expressing how Pakistan's actions backfired by uniting Indians across religions and regions, the actor shared, "Pakistan ki buddhi bhrasht ho gayi thi jo unhone logon ko Kashmir mein bheja. Kashmir bahut tarakki kar raha tha. This incident was a big mistake by Pakistan because, for the first time, even the Kashmiris have come in support of Hindustan. The whole of India has united. Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Christians--all of us are united, and this is a huge mistake by Pakistan, for which they are facing consequences. Operation Sindoor is just fantastic.""I had tweeted earlier that whoever gave this operation its name, I offer them my deepest respects... Operation Sindoor has touched our hearts. I'm with the government. The government is fantastic. The way they responded, our army personnel, our navy--they deserve all the salutes possible. We are so proud of all of you," the actor added.Veteran actor Mukesh Rishi also praised the government's actions and shared, "I would like to express my thanks to PM Modi. This was not something that could have been handled by just one, two, or even fifty people. It was something that only the government could manage. The actions that the government has taken were beyond what any of us could have imagined."India and Pakistan have been at loggerheads since the destruction of terrorist camps at nine locations in Pakistan under Operation Sindoor, which was launched in response to the ghastly Pahalgam terrorist attack.Earlier on Thursday, Pakistan launched a series of coordinated drone and missile attacks along India's western border, targeting regions in Jammu and Kashmir and Rajasthan. According to Indian defence officials, the attacks were largely intercepted by India's air defence systems, including the S-400 missile defence system, preventing significant damage.
Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 10 : On the occasion of the 25th anniversary special premiere of 'Sarfarosh', actor Aamir Khan treated fans with a big update on the sequel of the film.To celebrate the milestone of the film, Aamir Khan, Sonali Bendre, Naseeruddin Shah, Mukesh Rishi and others gathered for the star-studded screening. The special screening of Sarfarosh was held at PVR Juhu in Mumbai.During interaction with the media, Aamir shared how he also wants to have a sequel of Sarfarosh. He said, "Sarfarosh 2 banni chaiye (Sarfarosh 2 should be made) even I feel that. On the mode we left the film, there was a thought in our mind that we could make part 2. Even now I keep telling John (director John Mathew Mathan) to write a good story that we can make Sarfarosh 2. And this time he said that he will give it a shot."The film, directed by John Mathew Mathan, revolves around Aamir's cop character who vows to eliminate crime after his father is paralysed and his elder brother is murdered by terrorists.Back in 1999, Aamir Khan as ACP Ajay Singh Rathod in 'Sarfarosh' left everyone in awe.Sonali Bendre played the role of Aamir's love interest in the film.Besides its plot, the other most special aspect of 'Sarfarosh' was its music. Composed by Jatin-Lalit, the film has timeless songs like Jagjit Singh's 'Hosh Walon Ko Khabar Kya,' 'Zindagi Maut Na Ban Jaye,' 'Is Deewane Ladke Ko,' 'Jo Haal Dil Ka,' etc.
Natshrestha Vikram Gokhale Marg on the death anniversary of late actor Vikram Gokhale.Actors Anupam KherParesh RawalMukesh RishiSudhanshu Pandey, and Manoj Joshi also joined him at the ceremony.Vikram's wife Vrushali Gokhle also attended the event. At the event, Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis said, "Vikram has served this area. Taking inspiration from him many people are going to do the same service in future. It is a very good start that this very good building is being built here. This is taking the way forward. It is a very beautiful cooperation to get the name of Vikram in a way that we are on the right path. Every person coming here will feel that I am on the right path."At the event Anupam Kher said, "It is not important to be a popular actor, but it is important to be a great actor. There are stable artists, who get work every day. There are some who get it once in a week, once in a month, several times in three months. Johnny Lever was telling that lyricists and musicians get a royalty. If something happens in a legal manner that when those artists are brought back into films, they also get royalty, then their life will become a little easier."A Street was named after Late actor Vikram Gokhale on his first death anniversary at Cintaa Tower in Mumbai.
In conversation with ANI, the 66-year-old opened up about being pigeonholed in the industry, revealing children were scared of him."I still remember that there's a time when children would not come to me...they were scared of me due to my villainous image. Even many women used to say mean things to me. 'Aap ye kaisa kaam kar rhe ho ..aap ache bhale dikhte ho ye kya role kar rhe ho..' I heard all such things in the past," Mukesh Rishi recalled.Regardless of being stereotyped, Mukesh Rishi has no regrets. He feels people have become wiser with changing times and have started understanding his work in a better way." Children are no more scared of me... it's all because negative characters have undoubtedly evolved in our cinema including the way people perceive those characters. Earlier there's no social media, no digital platform..there were only theatres... fans had hardly any access to reach stars...but now things have changed. In today's time, audience knows the difference between real and reel characters as they are getting to know personal details of the stars through social media, video interviews and what not," Mukesh said on the sidelines of the 53rd International Film Festival of India. (IFFI) in Goa.But yes he did admit that he did not feel good after delivering 'Bulla' dialogue as many find it double meaning."Maybe I did mistake by delivering that dialogue..I did not feel good after saying those lines. However, I would like to thank this young generation for not judging me after seeing me delivering the bulla dialogue in Gunda that was released years ago. They found humour in it and made memes out of it," Mukesh Rishi said.Speaking of Mukesh Rishi's current work, he has produced a Punjabi film titled 'Nidarr', which will mark the acting debut of his son Raghav Rishi.
