Anupam Kher accuses JNU of not screening his film, University authorities deny

Veteran actor Anupam Kher doesnt mince words when it comes to voicing his opinion. Recently, his film Buddha Stuck in a Traffic Jam was supposed to be screened at the JNU campus but it seems that the screening of this film based on social issues did not go as planned. Anupam Kher, who is also an active supporter of BJP, accused the JNU authorities of double standards for not screening his film. The director of the film, Vivek Agnihotri took to Twitter to talk about the films JNU screening saying, Why isnt #BuddhaInATrafficJam allowed to screen at #JNU coz it exposes sinister politics? Or coz it features @AnupamPkher or selective FoE? Anupam Kher, who too was miffed about the same, stated that only few get to exercise their freedom within the university, taking a dig at the authorities. On the other hand, the university authorities had a different story to tell. Professor of Film Studies at JNU, Ira Bhaskar however claimed that they havent blocked any screening. She further mentioned that they did ask a few others to hold screenings of their films next semester due to unavailability of slots. Responding to their claims once again was filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri who posted a series of tweets saying, Can she show you any communication to this effect? Under pressure she is trying to cover up. Starring Arunodhay Singh, Mahie Gill among others, Buddha Stuck in a Traffic Jam is slated to release in theatres on May 6.
