Ram Gopal Varma comments on Aamir Khan skipping award functions

We all know that Aamir Khan does not attend any award function. While one may not know the real reason for his decision to shun the award functions, buzz is that, he got mighty upset when Shah Rukh Khan won the much coveted Best Actor award for Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge when everyone (including him) felt that he will win it for his outstanding performance in Ram Gopal Varmas smash hit film Rangeela.Speaking of Aamir Khan and awards, Ram Gopal Varma recently decided to talk about Indian awards functions, their relevance and credibility. Talking about the same Ram Gopal Varma, questioned the authenticity of the existing awards, including the National Awards saying, Fact that Aamir Khan, the greatest film maker of India does not attend any award events including national award speaks about those events. In the same breath, he tweeted Highest quality films are made by Aamir and that he doesnt care to be measured by any Indian award commitee including national speaks loud. While one does not know that whether Ram Gopal Varma posted the aforementioned messages in general or was it mirroring the recent uproar which was caused after the announcement of the recently held National Awards. While Akshay Kumar won the Best Actor for Rustom , there were many who strongly felt that Aamir Khan was the ultimate choice for the Best Actor award for his superlatively outstanding role in Dangal.
