Censor Board gives A certificate to Gangs Of Wasseypur

18 Jun 2012

Anurag Kashyap's films have always been known to face some issues with the Censor Board be it his first film Black Friday or his latest film Gangs Of Wasseypur.

For Gangs Of Wasseypur, the Censor Board had a few demands which they wanted the makers to comply with. They wanted the notice 'Cigarette Smoking Is Injurious To Health' to be shown in multiple languages and they also wanted actor Manoj Bajpayee to record the voice-over for the same.

Censor Board even objected initially to the infamous phrase from the film 'Teri Keh Ke Lunga' but later allowed it to be used. Besides this the Board has also asked to include a disclaimer which states 'The film is 90 percent based on real life incidents but it's mixed with fictitious characters.'

Last heard, the film has been cleared by the Censor Board with an 'A' certificate.
