Shahid Kapoor and Nawazuddin Siddiqui pair up for Eros-Raj-DK's Farzi

There is good news for all Shahid Kapoor fans. He has signed a new film which is interestingly titled Farzi . A big canvas crime-thriller-drama with a good dose of humor, Farzi would be directed by director duo of Raj and DK who released Go Goa Gone last year and are gearing up for the arrival of Happy Ending later this year. With the film, Raj & DK are also debuting as producers (with their production house D2R Films) as they would be collaborating with Eros, with whom they have also worked on Go Goa Gone and Happy Ending . Says Sunil Lulla of Eros, "Tying up with Raj and DK enforces our commitment to make more content driven films. They are a creative and dynamic duo who have gathered a following for their distinctive style of filmmaking." Known for their quirky sense of humor and unique drama, courtesy films like 99 and Shor In The City, Raj & DK have co-written the script with their long time partner Sita Menon and debutant Suman Kumar.

"For Shahid, this is an entirely different kind of set up and only adds on to an exciting line up of films that he has ahead of him with the other being Shandaar ," says a source, "He is clearly experimenting with varied genres and Farzi only adds on to the different kind of films he is trying out. Moreover, what makes the cast further exciting is the presence of Nawazuddin Siddiqui. The one who thought of bringing the two actors as diverse as Shahid and Nawazuddin deserves a pat on the back." Meanwhile, Raj & DK are cementing their place in the industry too, what with their Happy Ending carrying good reports as well. With Farzi, they have now taken the next logical step of turning producers.

Raj & DK add, " Farzi is one of our favorite scripts and we can't wait to work on it. Our experience with Eros has been wonderful for the last two films. They have always supported our vision and we are very happy to partner with them to produce films together." Farzi will go on floors by end of this year and will primarily be shot in India. Meanwhile, the name of the leading lady/ladies would be announced soon.
