Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma's costumes in Bombay Velvet to be auctioned

8 May 2015

While many celebrities do charity on an individual, Bombay Velvet as a team has decided to contribute to charity in their own way. The makers of the film have decided to auction the costumes of Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma online next week.

Bombay Velvet, which has Ranbir and Anushka playing lovers, is set in the late 50s and 60s. Hence, the costumes are designed in a way that represent that era. However, they are of no use in the current generation because of which the makers thought of using it for a good cause. From what we hear, the entire cast's costumes weigh about 25,000 kg and the makers have decided to auction at least 1,200 to 1,500 attires of the leads. The money collected from them will be donated to charity.

Interestingly, while Johnny Balraj, aka Ranbir Kapoor is well-suited in the film, Rosie Noronha aka Anushka Sharma as the jazz singer is seen wearing elegant and blingy outfits.

Directed by Anurag Kashyap and produced by Fox Star Studios in association with Phantom Productions, Bombay Velvet also stars Karan Johar, Kay Kay Menon, Manish Choudhary and it is slated to release on May 15, 2015.
