Scoop: Salman Khan reserves both Eid & Diwali 2017

12 Apr 2016

It's Kabir Khan's film for Salman Khan next Eid. While for Diwali 2017, Salman is doing Raj Kumar Santoshi's next which Salman's sister Alvira will produce.

Salman Khan loves to do the unexpected. Whispers from Galaxy, his home in Bandra Mumbai, suggested that Salman would no longer work in his family's home productions. This belief was further strengthened when Arbaaz Khan's Dabangg 3 was put on hold. But now Salman is doing a film for his family again. Yes, he will star in a film to be produced by his sister Alvira and brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri.

Most surprisingly this film, to be released during Diwali 2017, will be directed by Salman's Andaz Apna Apna director Raj Kumar Santoshi. The brilliant director of Lajja, Damini, Ghayal and Ghatak has been out of circulation for several years. His last directed film was the failed comedy Phata Poster Nikla Hero in 2013, after which at least three proposed films to be helmed by Santoshi were shelved.

It is surprising that Salman Khan has agreed to team up with Santoshi at a time when the director is down and out. On the other hand, that's Salman for you. Always there for the underdog.

A reliable source informs, "Santoshi's film is a powerful drama of the kind Salman has never done before, very different from what they did together in Andaz Apna Apna. It will be released for Diwali 2017. For Eid 2017 Salman Khan has already locked in another film with Kabir Khan. So Salman is all set for 2017."
