Just a day ago, the internet and social media saw an outrage as netizens went on to bash superstar Salman Khan over a remark passed by the actor on 'rape' during a recent media meet. After the actor's father, writer Salim Khan, took to Twitter to apologize, now actress turned writer Pooja Bedi has come out in support of Salman Khan.

Salman Khan had to undergo extensive physical training for his upcoming film Sultan and as the actor continued to describe about the rigorous sessions for the film saying, "It is like the most difficult thing. When I used to walk out of that ring, it used to be actually like a raped woman walking out." Post the comment, Salman continued to receive flak from audience on social media. Coming out in support of the actor, however, is Pooja Bedi who interestingly shares a rather cold vibe with the superstar that was triggered during her stint in the controversial reality show Bigg Boss, which had Salman Khan as the host. Pooja Bedi continued to post a series tweets in support of him over the outrage saying, "Is @BeingSalmanKhan controversy justified? If I say I feel FAT as an elephant will @PetaIndia file a case? is India getting OVERSENSITIVE?" She further added, "If @BeingSalmanKhan's intention was 2 use the term rape to describe something that shatters someone physically and emotionally, is it wrong? agreed it's not the best simili, but if 2 @BeingSalmanKhan rape is the most brutal physical experience anyone could experience, is he wrong?" Claiming this as a media gimmick and a publicity stunt of many, Pooja also said, "As educated & sensible people we need 2 calmly see how much of this "protest" against @BeingSalmanKhan is for political gain&Media TRP!" Salman Khan's 'rape' comment hasn't gone down well with several people including his fans and has even sparked controversy amidst the political circuits with the National Commission for Women even demanding an apology from the superstar.
