17 Aug 2016

Raveena Tandon was recently felicitated for her contribution towards the empowerment of the girl child by the Festival Of Globe (FOG) in Silicon Valley, San Francisco. For the uninitiated, 'FOG' is an annual event held to empower and integrate global cultures and communities through Film Arts, Performing Arts, Visual Arts and Folk Arts. This year, FOG had taken up the cause of empowering youth to fight sex crimes.

Readers may recall that Raveena Tandon showed her strong side when she set an exemplary example of single motherhood by adopting two girls when she was merely 21 years old. Raveena Tandon has also been actively involved in many initiatives associated with motherhood and women's rights.

Speaking about the felicitation, a delighted Raveena Tandon said, "It gives me immense pleasure to receive this award. I am proud to join hands with Festival of Globe in their fight against sex crimes and their drive for empowering youth towards a brighter tomorrow." On the professional front, she will be soon seen in Ashtar Sayed's The Mother, which has been written and produced by Michael Pellico.
